Synopsis
This website provides a number of videos about watersheds, maps of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed, and a brief description of that watershed.
Students will learn about the waterways leading into the Chesapeake Bay, including those in Cooperstown, NY, Suffolk and Blacksburg, VA, and Berlin, MA.

The videos do an excellent job of providing background information before students read about the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
The illustrations and use of color in this resource will keep students engaged.

Students should know that plants and animals need water to survive.
Differentiation
Students can create posters to persuade others to install water-efficient home appliances.
Students can discuss how stormwater runoff affects the watershed and research the impact of climate change on increased stormwater runoff.
In geography, students can map the water systems that run from their location to the Chesapeake Bay.
Students can brainstorm ways to reduce their water usage and conserve water.
