Teaching tips

Prerequisites:

  • Ensure students are familiar with climate change.

Classroom Implementation:

  • Use this video to introduce a climate conversation campaign project, in which students try to discuss climate change with those outside the class.

  • Use this video to close out a unit about climate change, encouraging students to share what they have learned.

  • After watching, have students practice a short climate conversation in pairs, starting with an interest they share, such as cooking, a sport, or the place where they live, and connecting it to a climate impact.

Interdisciplinary Connections:

  • Language Arts:

    • Ask students to evaluate how effective the boulder analogy is and then create their own analogy for collective climate action.
