Synopsis
This artistic video about Haleakalā National Park on the island of Maui talks about the climate-related dangers facing the park's endangered birds.

This topic applies to many locations around the world experiencing warmer winters.
Students will learn two phrases in the Hawai'ian language: kuleana (responsiblity) and malama`āina (to care for the land).
Additional Prerequisites
There may be an ad before the video.
Students should be familiar with the terms endangered species and habitat.
Differentiation
This would be a great video to use as an example of integrating art into STEM classes.
A possible extension activity could be to have students research how climate change is affecting other national parks and important ecosystems around the world.
After watching this video, science and social studies classes could discuss why protecting ecosystems and endangered species is important.
