Synopsis

  • This lesson introduces AgriSolar, a practice in which land is used for both agriculture and solar energy production.
  • Students define agrivoltaics and ecovoltaics, examine where agrivoltaics can be implemented, and evaluate the agricultural, economic, and environmental benefits for their community.
  • Students also create a scale drawing of a solar array on a farm and write a claim, evidence, and reasoning response about whether agrivoltaics can benefit local farmers.
