Synopsis
- This module includes three lessons about eating, growing, and caring for plants.
- Students will prepare a salad from plants, explore what plants need to survive and thrive, and germinate seeds.

- The first lesson provides a helpful note home to parents, asking them to notify teachers of any known or suspected allergies their child may have.
- The use of music to ignite student interest is a great and engaging suggestion, and the use of motions to remember content is beneficial to all students, especially English language learners.
Prerequisites
- Teachers will need to create an account to access the module.
- Some of the links to the fruit and vegetable songs are broken, and some of the external links for the Seed Guardians lesson are broken.
Differentiation & Implementation
- If circumstances allow, students can take a field trip to a local farmers market and look at the locally-grown fruits and vegetables.
- To foster a sense of community and interest in students' cultures, teachers can ask students to describe their favorite recipe that uses plants or create a class plant recipe book.
- After teaching the module, teachers can plant a class garden with students.
- Older students can discuss the impacts of climate change on native plants.
