What You'll Learn

"The Cottonwood Canyon Teacher Institute is an intensive four day long residential place-based field studies program for K-12 teachers from throughout Oregon. The Teach Rural Oregon project from the Eastern Oregon University aims at teaching participants about rurally and locally significant cultural or natural resources.

During this week teachers will engage in hands-on learning through three projects – engineering design, water quality studies, and storytelling. The program is focused on technical skills and projects that teachers can use with your students and also encourages collaborative time with your colleagues to identify and problem-solve challenges faced in the classroom during implementation.

Projects are led by EOU faculty, and other regional professionals. Stipends are available and 20 PDUs are offered. All regular meals are provided as well as some snacks."
